The Festival Luna Mora or Festival of the Moorish Moon sees the Village of Guaro celebrating its Moorish history. Held every year in September the festival is a celebration of Art, Crafts and Music with so much for you to see and do.
It is a very special festival and well worth a visit to experience.
Each evening the whole village is lit by more than 20,000 candles creating an amazing atmosphere. There is a Moorish Souk to wander about and each night concerts are held in the purpose-built amphitheatre.
The village of Guaro is about a 30-minute drive from Marbella. Special car parks are in operation outside of the village for the festival with a dedicated bus service from the car park to and from the festival. The Luna Mora de Guaro Festival is an extremely popular festival and attracts large crowds each year. If you want to avoid the large night crowds, we would recommend arriving for 6.00 pm when it will be much quieter. We expect confirmation of the dates for this year’s festival in April and will publish further details then.
